I don’t know all of my family …  I recieved an email of with the link to my Granny’s  Obituary today and it states this

Nancy Jean Harris 3/14/1938 -  5/19/2009  Nancy J. Harris went to be with her father in heaven on Tuesday, May 19, 2009.  Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Corner Stone Church, 3810 Hwy 124 in Winnie with Pastor Kevin Griffin officiating.  Nancy is survived by her children, Kenny Harris of Aurora, IN, James and Laura Harris of Delmar, MD, Debbie and Steve Ford of Seaford, DE, Mickie and Andy Fleetwood of Laurel, DE, Pam and Steve Giles on Monks Corner, SC, Fred and Edwina Harris of Laurel, DE, Peggy and Joe Navarre of Winnie, Timmy and Carol Harris of Osgood, IN and Tom Harris of Madison, IN; thirty-five grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; numerous family and friends.  She is preceded in death by, her husband, John t. Harris; mother and father, Eleanor Hunt and Everett Greets and brother, Fred Edward Greets.  There are a few mistakes Granny’s fathers last name is spelled wrong…its Geerts not Greets! and Granny’s middle name isn’t Jean .. It’s Jane. I had no idea that there were so many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren… Maybe they counted all the step grand kids too.. I didn’t because well I don’t know them or most of there names. I can see that she would want to include them as she treated us all the same!  I’m really going to miss her , her cards & emails & story’s ,even the over salted food.

Granny said this is how it used to be in the old days except my grandfather would be driving ..cuz Granny never drove a day in her life and there would be 4 more kids in the back and the youngest Tommy would be up front in between Granny and my Grandfather.

March 14, 1938 – May 19, 2009

Last Night My Grandma passed away.  I knew it was coming when my mom left 2 weeks ago and went to Texas. She had told me that Granny was going to have surgery to remove 2 100% blockages and 1 75% blockage.  My mom called me last Sunday and said that Granny had been seen by 4 different doctors and no one would do the surgery. It was too risky and that her veins were too flat from her diabetes. They told Granny that there was nothing they could do. That she could pass away at any moment or live another 2 years ..That they really didn’t know.  When mom told me this I knew it wouldn’t be long. I just had that weird feeling that I always get when something bad is going to happen.  Mom told me that they had a family meeting and Granny couldn’t be alone because if her sugar dropped , she would need something there to help her. So she was  going to move back to DE with my mom. I knew this was a good idea because I knew my mom would enjoy taking care of her mother and spending time with her. That’s her life mission to take care of people..especially the elderly.  Mom called me Monday and told me that they had packed most of Granny’s stuff and were going to be heading back to DE . She left yesterday leaving Granny in Texas to take care of her bills and get everything ready for her move. Granny has lived in Texas right acrossthe street from her youngest daughter. So Mom knew she would be watched over and had someone to help her. Mom got 8 hours into the trip home when she got a call from My Aunt Peggy who said that Granny was fainting and complaining that she couldn’t breathe so they rushed her to the hospital .. Mom called me and said that she was in Alabama and was turning around to go back to Texas. Once she told me this I got a chill up my spine that didn’t go away until I got the call at 10:40 that Granny had passed away. Mom had gotten back to Texas and had gotten to the parking lot at the hospital when Aunt Peggy called and said she had just passed away.   Granny was my last blood Grandparent living. My Grandfather John Harris passed away when my mom was 17 of a heart attack. Both my father’s parents had pasted away before I was born.  Both my father’s parents passed away from Heart Disease also. 

Granny was born March 14, 1938  Nancy Jane Geerts. She married John T. Harris and they had 9 kids.  Kenneth, James, Deborah, Mickie, Fred, Pamela, Timothy,Peggy, & Thomas.  along with her 9 kids she had a ton of grand kids lol.. She has 22 grand kids and 11 great grand kids and another on the way ..That we know of. We are not sure were 4 of the grand kids are therefore we are not sure if they have kids of there own. 

Granny was very involved with her church in Texas .. She was a Sunday school teacher and loved spending time with her “church kids” . Granny wasn’t one to put up with allot of crap. She was a very blunt , opinionated woman. She never got her drivers license nor ever drove a car. why I’m not quite sure. She refused to get on a plane too.. She would rather take a bus from Texas to DE  than drive herself or fly on a plane. She was a hard-headed woman…And the rest of us Harris Kin knew were we got it from! I don’t have any desire to ride on a plane either..but I couldn’t go without driving my entire life.  The one thing that stands out the most to me about my granny was her cooking .She loved to cook for her family… She could cook a really good meal when she was younger..as she got older I think her taste buds disappeared as she over salted everything lol. We never said anything but everyone knew that if you were getting ready to eat something Granny made to be prepared for the salt.  Another thing that stands out to me was the time she made me eat Liver … YUCK!  Gagging on every bite.. I was around 7 or 8 and I will never ever forget the taste or smell.

I wish I could of had the money or chance to go to Texas for a visit or while all this was going on ..So that I could see Granny one more time..tell her I loved her very much just one more time.  But I know that she knows how we all felt about her.. Granny & My Aunt Debbie kept the family together..Granny would say she wanted to have a family BBQ and Aunt Debbie would plan and host it at her house every summer. I really hope that we continue to have the family BBQ’s in the summer.  It’s really hard to get all 9 kids together ..especially when they live all over the place. Some are in Indiana , South Carolina, DE , MD , & Texas.  The last time we had all 9 kids together was in 2007 for Granny’s 70Th birthday.  She did get to have all 9 kids together last week.  I’m glad that she got to be with all 9 of her kids in her last days. 

We are really going to miss Granny or as Kamryn and Will called her GrannyNanny .

I started this post yesterday but didn’t get it finished until today. I had to find some pictures. I tried to edit the one with the 8 kids and add the 9th kid in there but It wasn’t working out too well for me.. Im still learning all the different things I can do with PhotoShop Elements. Its starting to be a pain in the butt lol.

1st Field Trip

Kamryn went on her 1st field trip today! She was so excited! Kamryn is gets to go to a resturant and make her own pizza , jump on a moon bounce and she got to pick a friend to go with her. She picked her little friend Kaleigha. She won this field trip for getting the most donations out of her grade. She was the only one in Pre-k that won. So Thank-you to all of her sponsers for Donating to the American Heart Association . She had over 140$ in donations!! The school raised over 5,000 dollars this year for Jump Rope for Heart!  Kamryn has 3 great grand parents that have passed away due to Heart Disease and 2 great grandparents who are struggling with Heart Disease today.  She jumped her little heart out in honor of those who have passed away from Heart Disease and those who are dealing with it now…. RIP John Harris, Ed Calhoun , Myrtle Calhoun.  I don’t have any pics from Jump Rope for Heart due to my moms memory disc getting destroyed some how.  but I do have a few pics from Today when she got to school. So here they are.

We got Jaden’s Baseball pics back yesterday! They turned out really good too. He is such a cutie! He is doing really good with baseball. Mike calls him his little left handed slugger. The season is coming to the end with only 3 games left. Its sad because we really enjoy watching him play. Hopefully he will want to play again next year!

Sigh..When will it ever end?  I don’t understand I really don’t …They know better! I know they do ..we’ve been threw this a few times before..They haven’t colored on the walls in a really long time and never to this extreme. Plus this isn’t all of it..they got the front door too. Its no where near this bad. You can tell witch kid did what… Kamryn of course draws better than Will. So to me it looks like Kamryn did most of the damage, with her little people, dogs,bunnies, and hearts.  She was so proud of herself too..I was outside feeding the dogs and making sure they had enough fresh water and I come inside get to the kitchen and Kamryn meets me in there…Mommy we have a surprise for you..you have to come look!  So I get in there and this is what I find! I said OMG! Is that a black sharpie on the floor..but of course its a sharpie! what else would it be?  So not only did they color on my wall with marker they did it with a permanent one .. yay! I told her and Will to get in there room until it was time for Kamryn to go to softball. I had to calm down because of how mad I was and I knew if they didn’t it wouldn’t of been pretty.  I thought about making her miss her softball but I couldn’t do that because it was her first one and Jaden had a game and We have his glove. So I had to go anyway. But they both are grounded. No DS, No Computer, No playing outside ..They get to stay in there room coming out only to use the bathroom and eat.  Witch really isn’t that bad because they have all of there toys in there room and they have a tv with all there movies and cable.  Back in the day If I would of done something like this to my moms wall , she would of kicked my butt and she would of made me scrub it until it came off! I would of been grounded for a month with no toys, no tv.. nothing!  So I think they got pretty lucky because they didn’t get a spanking and still have there tv and toys.  I am going to make her help me get it off the walls. A few of my other mom friends have told me to try alcohol , toothpaste and magic eraser..hopefully one of those things will work so I don’t have to paint the entire livingroom!

Having no internet sucks big time.. but thats ok..I’ve been reading alot more and getting tons of stuff I’ve been putting on the back burner done around the house. Things have been tough around here lately and the stress is insane..but were a strong couple and can get thru anything and things  are finally starting to look up for us.

 Not too much has been going on around here lately.. Jaden has been doing awesome with his baseball.. Last weekend I finally got my fielding machine back and gave it to Jaden to practice with .. he was excited to play with it.  He  didn’t want to stop even when it started to rain. but I had to make him because it was raining and it was time to go  spend the night with his Aunt Christina ..but I promised him it would be here when he got back..  Christina and Rob  don’t get to see them that often and when they called to ask of course Mike and I wouldn’t have any problems with it.  Plus they had been asking us for a while if they could get Maia and Jaden for a night but it didn’t suit until last weekend.  We are looking forward to spending alot more time with Maia and Jaden this summer and hopefully family that don’t get to see them as much as they see Kamryn and Will , will get that chance.  Kamryn and Will love Maia and Jaden and really look up to them..It will be so nice to see the kids more than the little bit of time we do now.  Mike and I have a few things planned for this summer to do with the kids . camping , zoo’s (not around here cause that one is just played out.) fishing ,beach trips, pool at nana’s, bbq’s , birthday parties , carnivals .  I’m so glad summer is almost here.. now if it would just stop raining and stay warm.    but anyway

Kamryn starts Softball next wed. Her’s isn’t like Jaden’s baseball.. she doesn’t have actual games against other teams.. It’s just 20 5 year olds learning to play the game and play little fun games that will help them learn..its a great way to introduce the game and teach them instead of just throwing them in there. She at first didn’t want to because she said she didn’t know how to catch but since we got the kids gloves and have been playing with them and she has been able to see Jaden play she is super excited.  Also I want to thank everyone who sponsered Kamryn in Jump Rope for Heart .. she has alot of family on both Mine and Mike’s side of the family who have suffered or passed away from Heart Disease and she loved jumping for them.. I would post pics but unfortunatly the memory card on my moms camera when she went to upload them destoryed all the pics . Kamryn had the highest amt. of donations in her grade..and she got alot of prizes and a certificate for being the highest and she also won a field trip.. witch we just found out about..and came at a great time.. because Kamryn started on this kick where she was saying she didn’t want to go to Kindergarden because she wanted to keep her teacher Mrs. S and her friends.. and I had just explained to her that her friends would be going to Kindergarden too and she would get a new teacher and would get to go on field trips and then I get this paper from her school saying she had won a field trip because of having the highest sponosers  so now she is soo excited she gets to go to Uno’s Chicago Grill and gets to tour the place and make her own pizza and she gets to bring a friend from school.. When she heard she got to bring a friend she quickly said she wanted to bring Kaleigha . They are too cute.  Everyday when I go to pick Kamryn up , Her and Kaleigha have to give each other hugs goodbye..its so sweet. So Thanks for giving Kamryn your support and this oppertunity ..even though doesn’t seem so great to us adults , its huge for her..she gets to ride a bus witch she has soo desperatly wanted to do this year..but since we live within walking distance to the school she doesn’t get to ride one.

Will’s 4th birthday is coming up..I had a big party planned..but if it doesnt get warm and stay warm like now  than the pool prob won’t be open in time for his birthday.. Every year its soo freakin hot on the day of his party..I’ve had the ice cream melt at two of his party’s  , so I quit bringing ice cream and I was hoping to have a pool party/bbq this year but mother nature doesn’t seem to be cooperating with me ugh.  It looks like I’m going to have to figure something else out.
